DGM - Digital Global Marketing

This was my first project for a client. It's a one-page website with a contact form.

Tools used:

This was my first project done for a real client. It is a one-page info web site with a contact form.

Used a simple color palette, parallax backgrounds, different color for highlight parts, snaping for sections, formsubmit.co for the contact form with some custom jquery.

It was a pleasure working on this project because I learned a lot during the process.

Typing Game (Winning project)

This was my first hackathon project ever. It's a simple typing game made for the "JS Hacks: Typing Karaoke" Hackathon by Mintbean. Made with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This project means a lot for me because with this project I WON my first hackathon ever. The Mintbean community helped me a lot with self-confidence, and to realize how much I know.

The game is about practicing and testing typing speed by typing nice quotes against the timer.

Type as fast as you can... Practice your typing skills and test your typing speed with TTT (Typing Typing Typing) by typing nice quotes.

CSS - Framework

This was my project for the "JS Hacks: BYOB, Build Your Own Bootstrap!" by Mintbean. It was about building a css framework.

Building a css framework was on my to-do list for a long time. Finally, something encouraged me to start with it. There is a lot more to be done, but I managed to start the basic foundation to later upgrade it to a full css framework, mainly for my own use.

During this project, I learned a lot more than just coding. Also realized what else I need to learn and what to improve. Learned more about sass and project organization. A bit about me...

Hi

My name is Emsad, I am born in Gradačac, that's a small city in Bosnia & Herzegovina. I like technology, sports, books, music, philosophy... Always looking to learn something new. Life circumstances and work made me move a lot, so I lived in Županja, Labin, Makarska in Croatien, Bremen in Germany, Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Tuzla (currently) in Bosnia. Moving around made me learn a lot, about people, cultures, traditions, and a lot more.

For the last 14 years, I have worked in the field of customer support, maintenance, selling, and delivery. Worth mentioning is that it was for “Konica Minolta” and “Canon” partners. I used my free time to educate myself through online resources. So I have advanced knowledge of Html, CSS, javascript, and good knowledge of Github, sass, PHP, C#, MySQL, frameworks, etc… Good understanding of UI/UX, responsive design, semantic, accessibility, flexbox, grid, OOP, etc...

This company is a Canon partner. Firstly I got through the Canon training part and then got the position as a Service Technician Company. My task was customer support, maintenance of rented and sold multifunctional machines, selling and delivery, etc...

Here I got with some previous experience in the field of IT and print solutions. Firstly I got to the IT position, mostly working with PCs, operating systems, drivers, networks, etc... Later a position more suitable for my experience got free and I was promoted. As I had previous experience with the B&W machine it was time to upgrade to Color machines. Now I am working with advanced color/B&W multifunctional machine. Covering the whole region in Bosnia, working with different clients, banks, police stations, schools, government, etc...

As the company is a Canon partner We got to do canon service training, seminars, etc... Always learning new stuff from day to day, as technology advances so do my knowledge... Strengthen my previously gathered skills and learning new. Teamwork, Communication, Organization, Selling, IT skills, Customer support, maintenance, etc...

Conclusion:

As I love technology and learning new stuff, here I got the chance to get it all. Every day is a new adventure, new city, new people, new tasks/problems to solve, etc...

This company is a Konica Minolta partner. Firstly I got through the Konica Minolta training part and then got the position as a Service Technician in the Company. My task was customer support, maintenance of rented and sold multifunctional machines, selling and delivery, etc...

I love technology, so this job was perfect for me. I had no previous knowledge about print and copy machines but I had some IT knowledge. So I got easy through the training part and learned quickly about advanced stuff. Primarily I worked with black and white A3 multifunctional machines.

Doing maintenance, selling and delivery on the whole region of Bosnia made me drive around a lot, so again it was fun to explore new cities, meet new people. Every day was a new adventure, new city, new task/problem, new people.

Here I got new skills like Customer support, IT skills, selling, Teamwork, Problem-solving, etc...

Conclusion:

As I had no previous experience working in the field of technology, this was a real adventure for me. Gathered a lot of new knowledge about customer support, print solutions, selling, maintenance, delivery, etc...

My primary task was product presentation in front of around 40-50 people. Talking about health, life habits, presenting products, making contracts, reports, etc... It was something new for me and learned new stuff...

This job made me move a lot from city to city, the longest I stayed in Banja Luka and Sarajevo. The work time was interesting, in the morning I had some tasks and then I was free to untile the evening when I held the presentations. The presentations with dinner and making contracts lasted for around 3 hours.

Had a lot of free time during the day. I liked it, moving around, exploring new cities, meeting new people.

So here I gathered new skills like communication, Commercial awareness, resilience, organization, Management, selling, etc...

Conclusion:

This job helped me develop skills for talking to people, presentations, negotiations, contracts, selling, etc...

After finishing high school I got my first job in a local food restoran. Where I had to take orders, serve food and drinks, clear the space, watch stocks etc... all the Waiter/Bartender responsibilities. As it was my first job ever I learnt a lot about work habits, organisation, responsibilities etc...

Later I got a chance to work in a night club as a Head Bartender, where I got even more responsibilities, besides all the Waiter/Bartender stuff I got to organise events, shifts, maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the bar area, handling customer complaints and disturbances, supervising other bartenders, ordering supplies and overseeing the workings of the bar area. Learning new skills like Leadership, Resilience etc...

After that, I worked in a posh place. Working with classy guests. There I learned a lot about communication skills, professional behavior, etc...

Conclusion:

It was my first experience in the world of real work. I learned a lot and had fun working and learning new stuff.
